Job description

LMAX are looking for a talented individual to join our growing International team as a Market Operations Analyst.  This position will see you working within the London Market Operations team and deal with all Exchange related tasks from monitoring LMAX markets to onboarding and supporting Exchange members and clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Dealing with Exchange Members, Liquidity Providers, Prime Brokers, Central Counterparties, post-trade vendors and market data vendors to ensure the smooth daily operation of the Exchange
  • Exchange members include global top tier banks, HFTs, hedge-funds and institutional clients.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end technical onboarding of new and existing Exchange members and clients.
  • Provide Operational and Technical support to Exchange members, third parties and clients involving FIX & API integration, network, account and trade flow setups
  • Build relationships with Members’ technical support and onboarding teams
  • Monitor Member Credit Limits and liaise with Banks and Prime Brokers for credit limit administration
  • Maintain and monitor the markets and the operation of the exchange
  • Investigate and resolve pricing and trade queries/breaks, and perform trade reconciliations throughout the day
  • Liaising closely with various internal teams including Sales, IT/Development, Compliance, and Finance
  • Internal and External setup of New Exchanges/Trading Venues
  • Manage, prioritise and escalate defects raised by members/third parties with the development team to meet member needs, while managing member expectations and deadlines
  • Monitor corporate actions and currency holidays
  • Maintain Operational and Technical documentation including API documentation, process documents and instrument and market information documents
  • Opportunity to work in the New York and Singapore offices


Essential Skills / Experience:

  • Experience working in operational and/or technical support role
  • Experience in or knowledge of the financial sector and the trade life cycle
  • Proficient at using Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent level of spoken and written English
  • Excellent level of spoken and written Japanese, this is to support our Japanese client base
  • First class written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of organisational practices and capable of prioritising
  • Excellent organisational and forward planning skills
  • Ability to understand complex financial products, including corporate actions
  • Ability to understand Exchange technology and technical concepts
  • Ability to manage people in a pressured environment
  • Ability to work independently, a self-starter, innovative and a team player
  • Enthusiasm to take on new tasks and flexibility in working to meet deadlines
  • Drive and determination, ability to work in a dynamic, fluid organisation
  • Willing to work in overseas office

     Desirable Skills / Experience:

  • Graduate level qualification
  • Excellent level of spoken and written Japanese, this is to support our Japanese client base
  • Experience in an Exchange environment
  • Knowledge or prepared to learn in the FIX protocol, Java and .NET APIs
