Tax Manager
Description:
LMAX Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our dynamic finance team in London. The successful candidate will take on a variety of responsibilities. The position is a management and reporting function, with emphasis on compliance and contributing to the overall financial strategy of the Group.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Given this is a small, growing team there is excellent flexibility and autonomy as to how responsibilities are divided between members of the Finance team, however, specific areas of responsibility are likely to include:
1. Internal controls and compliance:
· Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual tax position for the Group.
· Maintain policies and procedures (with associated controls) governing good practise, transfer pricing and oversee their implementation.
· Identify, evaluate and resolve material international tax risks on a timely basis.
· Manage the tax payment position for the Group and other group entities.
· Liaise with colleagues to ensure any change in business or tax regulation has been appropriately actioned and incorporated into the business model
2. Reporting:
· Manage the relationship with external tax service providers, and timely submission of require d returns.
· Review and submit the indirect tax returns for the Group and overseas entities.
· Review and submit the annual PSA returns for the UK entities.
· Manage the R&D calculation, group relief and deferred tax position of the Group.
· Support finance colleagues to resolve tax authority audits or statutory auditor reviews.
· Ensure the timely submission of tax returns and ad hoc returns for all entities of the Group.
3. Strategic planning and forecasting:
· Lead the Group’s Transfer Pricing (TP) model, and regular monitoring of Group’s methodology to keep pace with the business and advising on emerging risks and opportunities.
· Collaborate with other business heads to develop accurate and realistic tax strategies.
· Monitor and report on any variances to the prescribed policies for decision making purposes.
· Be a key contributor to setting group’s tax strategy and scaling the tax function as the business grows (i.e. M&A deals or restructuring, through to new products or jurisdiction assessment and approvals).
· Be primary contact for tax matters, assisting other departments to handle employment tax queries, and/or get involved in VAT reporting and compliance.
· Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
4. Team Leadership:
· Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture with peers within the finance department.
· Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Requirements:
• ACA/CTA qualified
• Proven experience and commercial acumen as a Tax Manager or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of UK direct and indirect taxes.
• Experience in the financial services industry is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in verbal and written English
• Can demonstrate end to end ownership of complex projects with many stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and a strong bias towards action.
• An ambitious, proactive team player who feels accountable for the delivery of an assignment and contributes to a great team spirit.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile environment.
