Junior Web Designer

Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to client facing websites, widgets and communication emails.
  • Implement designs for HTML Emails, landing pages and websites.
  • Maintaining and updating content and documents on existing websites.
  • Coding signed off designs into working web page templates
  • Cross-browser compatibility and device testing for all web components.
  • Following the steps of a system development lifecycle
  • Produce processes and procedures for releasing new functionality. 

Once more advanced into the role:

  • Amending, fixing and customising WordPress templates
  • Take full ownership of projects and communicate project status to stakeholders.
  • Manage external providers and raising support tickets.
  • Automate processes and increase efficiency

Requirements:

Essential Skills / Experience:

  • Good knowledge of HTML ,  CSS and PHP
  • Understanding of MySQL
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress and custom theme development
  • Amending, fixing and customising WordPress templates
  • Experience with cross-browser compatibility and device testing
  • Ability to research new advancements and new technical approaches
  • Ability to focus on technical problems and deliver solutions
  • Experience with iterative development process
  • Should be a team player, with ability to work independently
  • Able to take full ownership of projects
  • Able to communicate effectively to ensure we consistently produce first class designs

Desirable Skills / Experience:

  • SEO knowledge and experience
  • Experience of JavaScript
  • Experience with email marketing software such as HubSpot
  • Experience in Google Analytics
  • Strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • High level of attention to detail
