Risk Analyst
Description:
The Risk Analyst will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating credit and market risks for the company. This role involves developing and implementing risk management policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including those set by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).
As a Risk Analyst, you will play an important role in the team, conducting and developing in-depth analysis across a range of risk models and tools, whilst supporting the other business functions in LMEU. The role may require shift work and includes weekend on-call rotations.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Management:
- Develop and implement credit risk policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments of clients and counterparties.
- Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate client portfolio risk to minimise potential default risk.
- Implement rigorous due diligence processes for counterparties.
- Monitor market conditions and analyse their impact on the company’s financial performance.
- Assisting with annual and ad-hoc due diligence research and analysis for existing and potential counterparties.
Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and present risk management reports to senior management, board of directors and regulatory authorities.
- Communicate risk management policies and procedures to relevant stakeholders.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and their impact on the company’s risk management practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to risk management and build risk awareness within the company
Broker Liquidity Support:
- Collaborate with the sales and liquidity teams to assess client needs and optimize liquidity solutions.
- Assist sales and broker operations teams by addressing client queries and providing detailed trade analyses.
- Play a key role in developing new product offerings, ensuring they are competitively priced and robustly structured.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Extensive experience within an EEA regulated institutions in risk management and risk exposures
- Understanding of relevant regulatory framework and reporting requirements
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Familiar with excel formulas and VBA
- Basic knowledge of Python
- Working knowledge of MT4/MT5
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Positive, constructive, and open-minded attitude with a desire for continuous improvement
- Practical approach to managing time and workload to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
